הוּא הָיָה אוֹמֵר, יָפָה שָׁעָה אַחַת בִּתְשׁוּבָה וּמַעֲשִׂים טוֹבִים בָּעוֹלָם הַזֶּה, מִכָּל חַיֵּי הָעוֹלָם הַבָּא. וְיָפָה שָׁעָה אַחַת שֶׁל קוֹרַת רוּחַ בָּעוֹלָם הַבָּא, מִכָּל חַיֵּי הָעוֹלָם הַזֶּה:
Solía decir: Mejor una hora para [arrepentimiento] y buenas obras en este mundo que toda la vida en el mundo por venir. [Porque en ese momento el arrepentimiento y las buenas obras no sirven de nada a un hombre. Para el mundo por venir solo sirve para recibir recompensa por lo que uno cumplió en este mundo.] Y mejor una hora de placer en el mundo por venir que toda la vida en este mundo.
